Ae Dil Hai Mushkil - Waqayi, Yeh Movie Hai Mushkil

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (ADHM) has been one of the most awaited movies this year.

The film’s teaser, trailer and songs have already been a hit amongst the audience. After a lot of controversies, ADHM has finally hit theatres yesterday. 

Let's take a look at how we found it. 

⏩ Genre :- Romance/Drama/Musical.

⏩ Runtime :- 2 hrs 38 mins.

⏩ Cast :- Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Fawad Khan.

⏩ Director :- Karan Johar.

⏩ Plot -  Ayan (Ranbir) and Alizeh (Anushka) start off as friends, both coming off breakups, one a serious relationship while the other a casual affair. Eventually, Ayan falls for Alizeh while what Alizeh feels for him is not "Ishq wala" but "Dosti wala" love. Fawad Khan (DJ Ali), Alizeh's ex, begs her to give their relationship another chance resulting in marriage. A heartbroken Ayan finds lust in the arms of a divorced poet Sabah (Aishwarya) who convinces him for a "No Strings Attached" relationship. But Ayan still loves Alizeh and turns into Justin Bieber. Things get seriously complicated in the second half and... (Well, I know what you are thinking - "Isn't this complicated enough?" No. There's more to it.) Ayan gets transformed into the Ranbir from Tamasha while Aishwarya falls for him. Enter, SRK. Then there's some more drama. Few mellow songs. The end. (Deliberately written that to avoid giving away any spoilers. Thank me later.) 

⏩ Direction and Screenplay :- Karan Johar  surely knows how to tug at your heartstrings. Especially, when the target audience are Indians. The direction is top notch. Karan does an amazing job at ensuring that the pace never dulls, by painting in dialogues that keep you engaged. There are enough references to pop culture favs and films that we have grown watching and loving. (Yes. Most of which are his own.) Basically, the movie deals with the fine line between love and friendship and the fact that the former cannot be enforced. 

⏩ Editing and Cinematography :- 2 hrs 38 minutes is slightly more for a romantic film and that could have been avoided with a few cuts in the initial 15 minutes.

Well it's a Karan Johar movie, so it's pretty evident that the cinematography is going to be of top class. Like his every other movie ADHM is beautiful and glossy like a model from the cover of an A class mag. The movie has been shot in exotic locations like London, Paris and Vienna. Also, the majestic grandeur and simplicity of our 'Nawabo ka sheher' Lucknow has been depicted by shooting two song sequences there. 

⏩ Music :- The music by Pritam has already taken us into an euphoric high.

The soulful 'Channa Mereya', 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' and 'Bulleya' being absolute favourites. Also, 'Breakup Song' and 'Cutiepie' are peppy but good.

A big thumbs up for the background score which is scintillating and clever. Also, there is a very smooth transition from serious to funny scenes which is commendable. 

⏩ The Highs :-

▶ The first half is fun and the banter between Ranbir and Anushka is extremely engaging. 

▶ The highlight of the movie has to be the smart one-liners and jokes that too using words and language that's not only current but also entertaining. (It made me remember the friendly banters between the trio in Kal Ho Na Ho. Sweet.)

References to other films, dialogue-baazi namely the ones from the 80s makes you glee. 

▶ Johar does not season his film with supporting characters – Like no unnecessary best friend or overly protective parent or villain. 

Except for few cameos by his best friends.

Yes, We've SRK... And ek "ladki beautiful."

Guess? 

▶ Also, there are a lot of philosophies being thrown at you right from the beginning but you may very well connect with them.

A lot through shayris to be specific. 

Also, some lines are as good as an honest slap - Why go through it, when one can be friends: "Pyar mein junoon hai. Dosti mein sukoon hai." Corny, but true.

▶ Performances. Performances especially by the lead pair Kapoor-Sharma. They are so good you can't take your eyes off them.

▶ THE SONGS. THE COSTUMES. THE LOCATIONS. Need I say anything more? ❤

▶ The movie is so very relatable for people

who have been through heartbreaks or one sided relationships. 

⏩ The Lows :-

▶ In the second half, the scenes gets heavy on the head and that cloud of ‘been there seen that’ looms till the very end. We start getting Déjà Vus from different films like Tamasha, Katti Batti, YJHD to name a few.

Also, the filmy dialogues start irritating you by the end of the film. Not too much, but yes.

▶ The execution of the narrative gets lost in translation. By the end of the movie, you feel there are many unresolved feelings between the lead pair. Also, Aishwarya's character lacks depth. The reason of her divorce being unknown, her whole persona being a mystery till the end. 

▶ The lame twist in the end, annoys. Couldn’t there have been a better way to work it out? Can't we for once, make the reel-life scenarios like that of the real ones? Ffs.

Thousands of people live with their 'one sided' love story everyday. "Ek Tarfa Pyar Ki Keemat, Tum Kya Jaano Johar Baabu." *Pffts*

⏩ Performances :-

▶ Ranbir is the stand out performer of this movie. He owns Ayan like he’s felt every emotion of the character. Right from the long monologues to the short subtle reactions to his co-actors make his performance much more endearing. He is the soul of the movie. Plus, it’s an excellent return to form for him after a spate of failures recently.

▶ Anushka Sharma is so vivacious and vibrant, she keeps your eyes glued to her all the time. So much so that post-interval, you begin to miss her natural and unconstrained piece, even though the femme fatale Sabah (Aish) is in the centre. 

Stole your thunder, Aish! *smirks*

▶ Aishwarya 'Beautiful' Rai Bachchan looks like she’s strutted out of a beauty pageant with all the exaggerated movements of the hips and shoulders. Also at one point, you feel as if you are watching one of the Ads of a brand she endorses. 

(I maybe wrong, but the pouts, pucker, hair flips, eye rolls say otherwise. *Ahems* )

Speaking of her character Sabah, an alluring poetess, her moments with Ranbir have INTENSE sensuality and passion. But her role doesn’t go beyond what you see in the trailer. Also, was she high the whole while? Or maybe that's what was asked of her. Hmm. (I know most of you boys won't care about whatever has been written about her above. Even I would go watch her for her Oh-So-Beautiful features. Guilty. *drools*)

⏩PS - There is one confrontation scene between her and Ranbir, wherein she is all red and teary eyed - And mahn, her eyes speak volumes with minimal lines! *applauds*⏪

▶ Fawad 'Hot' Khan, as Anushka's ex boyfriend DJ Ali, is at his best!

⏩Cameos :

▶ Shah Rukh Khan too gets a small role and he cracks the most important dialogue of the film, “Ek tarfa pyaar ki takaat hi kuch aur hoti hai, wo auron ki tarah do logon mein nahi batt-ti. Sirf mera haq hai iss par. Sirf mera.” (I am not being racist but, Is he like... tanned? Or is that the standing-next-to-Aish effect? Go figure.)

▶ Lisa Haydon as Ranbir's fling nails the tiny role she's been given. She is funny as hell. Also, the word "Vatavaran" is soon going to be a catch phrase amongst youngsters. 

▶ Imran Abbas ('Mohabbat barsa dena tu' fame) as Anushka's date does a fine job too.

⏩ Watch or Not? - ADHM is basically a love child of Kal Ho Na Ho and Kuch Kuch Hota Hain. Therefore, if you are a sucker for TYPICAL, good, soppy romantic comedies book your tickets rightaway!

⏩ Verdict :- Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has some really nice moments, but they suffer the curse of an over complex second half. Nevertheless watch it for Ranbir and Anushka, and Karan’s nearly perfect interpretation of platonic love, unrequited love and heartbreaks.

⏩ Ratings :- 3/5.

Freaky Ali - Review : This Freaky Ain't Cheeky. ❤🙌

Genre :- Comedy / Drama

Runtime :- 2 hours.

Cast :- Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Arbaaz Khan, Seema Biswas, Amy Jackson, Nikitin Dheer, Jas Arora, Parvesh Ganatra, Asif Basra.

Director :- Sohail Khan

Plot :- Freaky Ali is basically a heroic journey of an under-garment seller, later a debt collector who goes on to become a golfing sensation. But how ? Go see, to find out.

Direction :- Although he has directed quite a films now, yet Khan's direction seems to be a mixture of uncoordinated scenes and there is little to focus on in any of the scenes.

Editing and Cinematography :-
Editing is crisp and fast-paced. There never is a moment where we get bored. The Cinematography by Mahesh Limaye is above average, but not exceptional.

Music :- The music is smooth and pleasant on the ears. The Sufi song, 'Parinda Hai, Parinda Hai', and the qawaali, 'Ya Ali Murtuza', are comfortably installed into the narration. 'Din Me Karengee Jagrata' is visually funny and a treat for the eyes.
And Nawaz. What moves mahn! *Winks*

The Highs -
▶ Nawazuddin Siddiqui is an under rated star, but over the past few years he has managed to develop a cult following amongst the sensible audience with his effortless sense of delivery and smart alecs. And in this movie, he does no different. He carries the film on his shoulders and still shines. *Applauds*

▶ Co-writers Khan and Raj Shaandilya have come up with a modern, fun-filled screenplay that makes the clichéd plot not just bearable but enjoyable. They decided not to waste time explaining the game, but they didn’t compromise when it came to ensuring the swings and putts. So on point.

▶ Sohail Khan deserves a round of applause for spoofing himself of having no talent (Nikitin Dheer is a good-for-nothing gangster named 'Sohail Khan') and getting the golfing bits right. *Bows*

▶ What's the difference between a good and an honest life? This dialogue forms the crux of the movie. And it's good to see how they pulled it off in a more light-hearted and funny manner.

▶ Nawaz’s ‘Chaddi’ monologue and his conversation with a chubby kid at the very beginning is hilarious and makes sure you have a good laugh.

▶ Also, the first half is ridiculously funny and amazing. The situational comedy never fails to tickle your funny bone, especially when Nawaz delivers it.

▶ You also get a glimpse of Ramanna (Sindhi Dalwai from Raman Raghav) in more than one scene -
When Nawaz is seen running behind Arbaaz, trying to hit him with a golf club; when he tries to cut off his hand plaster with a scissor and when he gets mad after losing a match.

The Lows :-
▶ The story is wishy-washy and lacks originality. There is nothing extraordinary in the story that you haven't seen before.

▶ While some dialogues are genuinely funny, there are a few that go under the belt.

▶It would've been wiser if the writers have limited this film to a comic affair.
The unnecessary elements such as match fixing and betrayal is a slight put-off.

▶There is this scene when Seema Biswas stares at an idol of Ganesha and says, “If tomorrow my Ali isn’t able to play, it won’t be his failure, but YOURS!” WTF! Why Bollywood, why? Even Ganesha might be wondering,
"Whaaaaat? What wrong have i done for you to involve ME into all this mess?" Seriously.

Performances -
▶ Freaky Ali brings out an unseen side of the actor that we would love to see more. With this feather in his cap, he proves that no genre is difficult for him and in this full length comic role he is a treat to sore-eyes.
*Claps and whistles*.

▶ Arbaaz Khan's character as Ali's friend Maksood has been copy-pasted from his character 'Makkhi' in 'Dabangg'. Although he does fine, there is nothing new in his characterization and in his acting.

▶ Arvind Parab as the kidnapped old person is too good. He holds his character graph in a very good manner.

▶ Seema Biswas, who plays his foster mom, shines in the emotional scenes but goes over-the-top with her typical Bollywood "Iske paas maa hain" antiques.

▶ Parvesh Ganatra as the side-kick 'Fakroo' justifies his character in every way.

▶ Amy Jackson. Wait. Was there a female lead in the movie I didn't notice? Hmmm. Just kidding. XD
Her only role in the film is to clap for Ali and exclaim, ''Wow Ali, you were too good".
What Sohail? You should've atleast giving her a love song, for that matter. *Chuckles*
PS - Also her overlined lips are downright annoying. *Pffts*

▶ Nikitin Dheer as 'Danger Bhai' tried hard to be a goofy goon, but he seems uncomfortable.

▶ Jas Arora (the cute guy from the music video 'Gur Naal Ishq Mitha') plays an unintentionally funny villain, who is a Golf- champ and loses no opportunity to pick dirt at our Ali. There surely seems a competition of over-acting between Dheer and Arora. And the latter wins hands down. He goes so over the board that even Ali keeps on telling, "Tujhe toh cricket mei hona chahiye, bahut over karta hai”. Bhai, sahi pakde hain. *Claps*

▶ The cute kid Irrfan Khan (Fatka from 'Chillar Party' who is now all grown up) also has a short but sweet role in the movie, as the street kid who looks upon Ali as his idol. Aww.

Verdict -
We don't know whether the critics are under a set prejudice that they have to cut Freaky Ali's marks because. Baar Baar Dekho! *Sighs*
On the contrary, you will enjoy this one better. Although the storyline is cliché, we found Freaky Ali worth all the time and money.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui is one star we love. ❤

A Flying Jatt - Review. Move Over Krish, A Flying Jatt Is Here. 💁

Genre :- Fantasy / Action / Adventure

Runtime :- 2 hours 35 mins

Cast :- Tiger Shroff, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nathan Jones, Amrita Singh, K. K. Menon, Gaurav Pandey.

Director :- Remo D'souza

Plot :- The film revolves around a young Jatt boy (Tiger) who breaks out of his rut to save a piece of land from being taken over by a power hungry industrialist, Malhotra (K.K). And in the course, he has to fight an evil Raka, hired by Malhotra.

Well, as we all know that Bollywood's engagement with superhero flicks has not been healthy. Therefore, Remo
resorts to comic relief as an escape and hence we have a superhero who has Acrophobia, buys sabzi from the market, stops at red signals,
tries on funny costumes on his mother’s insistence and who is not flaunting his powers.
He is Bad Ass, Lame Ass and Great Abs!
Ahem. Does that ring any bells?

While, the concept of this spoof over superheroes works well, his preaching on Environment doesn't.

The Highs -
▶ Tiger doesn't seem to have impressed us with his acting yet, but this man certainly has an innate charm about him that makes us wanna watch him more.

▶ It's no news that we Indians, or Bollywood for that matter has always been "inspired" by Hollywood. But doing that with finesse, is what i found applaudable. I don't see any point in thrashing the movie because of its rip-offs on brilliant Hollywood Superheroes. We are trying hard to get there, aren't we?
If u can't acknowledge and encourage, better keep shut.
There are some popular and easy to recognize 'inspirations' like the action sequence where our Jatt does a 'QuickSilver' (Xmen), flies like 'SuperMan' (DawnOfJustice), Goofs like 'DeadPool', Runs like 'The Flash', and heals like 'Wolverine'.
He also takes help from 'Spiderman' for a cue on his love life. (The hidden identity and first kiss thing.)
Also, the antagonist Raka seems to be a fan of 'Magneto' (Apocalypse).
*Phews*
A special mention to the 'QuickSilver' scene, that has been beautifully depicted.

▶ Some scenes are downright hilarious such as Tiger dancing to Sunny Leone’s 'Baby Doll' and most of the scenes involving Tiger, Gaurav Pandey and Amrita Singh (Bebe).

▶ We are also given a glimpse of history of the Sikh bravery. Remo also manages to push in the ‘don’t make jokes on Sardars’ message in this one.
Bravo! *Claps*

▶ It is a funny superhero drama that has ample of light moments. Its Kid-friendly nature seems to be the most saleable point!

▶ Dialogues by Akash Kaushik and Madhur Sharma are good. Especially in the last half an hour.

The Lows :-
▶The first half is funny and fast-paced, but the second half is in your face preachy and also religiously over-dosed, which kind of dampens the spirit of the movie.

▶The songs are a call for a 'Loo-Break'.

▶ The movie crams TOO many social messages and you will see our superhero asking people to wear seat belts and not talk on the phone while driving, among many other things.

▶ Our villain Raka feeds on pollution, and the only way to combat it is stop polluting our environment. But he is killed by a religious instrument! If he was anyway going to be defeated in this manner, why go through all this pollution angle and social messages? Huhn?

▶ Also, the climax is out of the world. Literally! And it's superbly illogical.
Since when did the moon start having a gravitational pull? *Scoffs*

Direction :- Honestly, when this film was announced, I did feel that it seemed like an overly ambitious project for Remo who is primarily a choreographer and his only two directions were completely based on ' 'Dance' ofcourse. But his attempt at a superhero drama with a message is not bad but its writing is not upto the mark.

Editing and Cinematography :- Editing could've been crispier. Cinematography is better than expected apart from a rain-fight sequence where it seems completely shoddy.

Music :- The songs seem slapped on and have no relation to the plot whatsoever. 'Beat pe Booty' is good and is indeed a treat for sore eyes. 'Toota jo kabhi taara' which is a love song, is directed pretty well. All in all, the music is average. Strictly average!
The background score is quite irritating every time Raka is on-screen.

Performances :
➡ Tiger is agile and excellent in his presence, but a poor dialogue delivery surely come in the way. Nobody can challenge him when it comes to the super air-kicks and hence his action scenes look quite good, nonetheless the actor still has long way to go, to come up in the top league.

➡ Amrita Singh does a 'Two States' again as Bebe. Bebe loves drinking and has no filter to her mouth. She steals the limelight in the last 30 minutes with her epic dialogue delivery and intensity.

➡ Kay Kay Menon is wearing weirdly blingy ties and if you could pay attention beyond those, you would realize his mean look is the same as that in ABCD.

➡ Gaurav Pandey who was also seen as Varun Dhawan’s friend in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania does a good job in this film as Tiger’s brother. His comic timing is excellent!

➡ Nathan Jones as Raka looks scary enough thanks to his huge structure itself. His ‘Surprise Surprise’ line although doesn’t come across as a threat much but seems rather funny. With lame dialogues like 'Meri Ruuh Kaali Hain (I have a black soul), he is just expected to open his jaws (with vocals like Haaaaa), widen his eyes and that’s your villain. LOL!

➡ Jacqueline Fernandez as his love interest is beautiful and dumb. She is overly chirpy and shows no signs of efforts taken for this role. Her highlight in this film is clearly the sexy moves on ‘Beat Pe Booty‘!

➡ Shraddha Kapoor makes a cameo in the film by calling out,
*Mimics her voice*
"Ayee Flying Jatt! Will you marry me?"
*Slow claps with a smirk*
While her scene isn't impressive, the dialogue which comes after it, is more funnier!

➡ You also get a glimpse of Sushant Pujari (Vernon of ABCD2 Fame) who plays his violin hard enough to woo Jacqueline.

I have put all the Highs and the Lows in front of you, Go Figure!

Happy Bhaag Jayegi - Surprisingly Good. ❤

🎲 Runtime :- 2 hours 10 mins

🃏 Cast :- Abhay Deol, Diana Penty, Momal Sheikh, Ali Fazal, Jimmy Shergill, Kanwaljeet, Piyush Mishra

🎥 Director :- Mudassar Aziz

📜Plot :- Happy Bhag Jayegi is the story of an Amritsari bride Happy (Diana Penty) who runs away on the day of her marriage to local goon Bagga (Jimmy Shergill) because she loves Guddu (Ali Fazal). Happy boards the wrong escape vehicle and ends up in Pakistan and creates havoc in the lives of a budding politician in Lahore, Bilal Ahmed (Abhay Deol), and his fiancé Zoya (Pakistani actress Momal Sheikh). Will Happy and Guddu’s love story have a happy ending?

It is a light-hearted entertainer where the actors don’t go overboard.

The Lows -
➡Director Mudassar Aziz who also doubles up as the writer renders his characters more superficial than real. Why does a Happy who is always so happy not gather the courage to speak to her own dad about her forced marriage? We never really understand the motivations of the characters.
Also, the character build up for Happy isn't so endearing. Even by the end of the movie, you aren't aware of how exactly Happy is, as a person.
There is one beautiful scene wherein Guddu (Ali) tells Bilal (Abhay), "It is impossible not to love Happy once you get to know her", but we never get to know her so we dont find that out for ourselves.
Imagine having your name in the name of the film, and yet being given only one intense conversation with another character throughout the film. Not fair, right? She remains a distant figure all throughout.

➡ While the first half is easy, a chaotic second half pulls this film down. Also, the climax is extremely hurried.

➡Bilal and Zoya's love story is better explored in the screenplay rather than Guddu and Happy's. You don't even get a backgdrop as to why Happy fell in love with a good-for-nothing Guddu, who only knows how to play a 'Tun-tuna'(Guitar).

➡The film had potential and could've been a bigger success like "Tanu weds Manu", but the lazy plot restraints never lets it fly.

The High's :-
➡ The characters and the humour is sensible. They take liberties to be funny, but understand the gravity of the situation.

➡ The climax although devoid of the stock dramatic effects, is nevertheless quite endearing.

➡ The film is entirely shot in India, but the visuals and set up depicting Pakistan are applaud-worthy. One of the most likable points about this is, the representation of the life beyond the border which is quite similar to us.

➡A drunk Guddu and Pakistani police, Afridi (Piyush Mishra) discussing Urdu and not Kashmir, makes up for a hilarious scene.

➡ Aziz throws in some good crowd-pleasing lines about Pakistan, but they are inoffensive and balanced out by the bond between Bilal, Usmaan, Guddu and Happy.

➡ There are few moments of maturity in the screenplay. The best one being the writing of Zoya's character. She could've easily been the Evil 'other woman' in the hero's life but as the film progresses, she becomes more than the lazy stereotype. And that's good.

➡ Also, the climax is unconventional which is a great thing in itself.

🎶 Music :- Music of the film could have been much better. There is not a single foot tapping number for the vivacious Happy to prove her character’s crazy side. The romantic numbers are quite passable. "Tera tera" is best amongst the lot.

💡 Performances :-
▶ Diana Penty as Happy is surprisingly good. We saw her in Cocktail under Deepika's shadow, brimming with potential. And here she is, seeming to have guzzled a dozen of Red Bulls that makes her oh-so-energetic! She frequently goes overboard with the Punjabi accent but let's cut her some slack here, for she has undergone a huge improvement.

▶ Abhay Deol is back in form as the suave Bilal, the budding politician and its great to see him finally get a role worth his charisma.

▶ Piyush Mishra as the hapless senior policeman ASP Usman Afridi, nudges the funny bone and nails it each time he walks on to the screen. Besides, how can you not smile when Piyush Mishra is on screen? His accent, delivery and timing is sooo on point.

▶Momal Sheikh as Zoya is beautiful and pretty. She plays the supportive and sensible lady who stands by her fiancée when he is busy saving the girl, whom he has a liking for. And she doesn't hesitate a bit before asking him to go pursue his love and dreams.

▶Jimmy as Bagga is a pro at being slighted.*winks*
Having a history of being stood up by women in shaadi ka joda, Jimmy takes off from where we left him in Tanu Weds Manu Returns… He is again huffing and panting to get the ladki back. Poor guy!
“Humaare cards batt chuke hain” he screams almost 3 times to 3 different characters.
The poor fellow always ends up as the ‘bridesmaid.’ *chuckles*

▶ Ali Fazal has a forgettable part but he does it good. I mean, he isn't to be blamed. Imagine being termed a musician and never getting to play the so-called 'Tun-tuna' or sing a song. No, really.

▶ Kawaljeet plays the helpless father who takes on his own to find his daughter in the 'Padosi mulk'.

The supply of situational comedy won’t end till you leave the theatre. There is nothing to rave about, but it's harmless enough for a one time watch. In my opinion, this could be a better TV-watch.

Dishoom - Delivers An Impressive Punch. 👊❤

🎭Genre :- Action-Comedy/Buddy Cop

Runtime :- 2 hrs 4 mins.

👔Cast :- John Abraham, Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandes, Akshay Khanna, Saqib Qureshi and Rahul Dev.
Akshay Kumar and Nargis Fakhri in a cameo.

✍Plot :- When India's top batsman goes missing in the Middle East, two cops from either side of the Arabian Sea team up for a 36 hour manhunt.

Talking about the direction, Rohit Dhawan did a decent job. The 'Desi Boyz' director managed to pull off some beautiful scenes.
Although the storyline is quite predictable and clichéd, the engaging narrative, coupled with rich visuals and high octane action, humour, work in favour of the film. Add to this the star power of John Abraham and Varun Dhawan, which will definitely attract the youth.
Also, the chemistry between the actors, especially during the comic scenes make for an entertaining watch. The movie no doubt has all the style, swagger and glamour, but it would have been a better bet had the director paid a little more attention towards the script.

👀Cinematography and Editing :- The Cinematography is neat and vibrant. Also the glitz of UAE makes it more appealing. The Editing could've been better, since i found few sequences unnecessary. Like the one chase sequence with Rahul Dev.

🎶Music :- The music crisp, fitting well with the vibe of the film. It begins with the title track 'Toh Dishoom'. Sung by Shahid Mallya with ample use of Raftaar's rapping, the song's highlight are its lyrics. The right use of bass and Punjabi tadka give this one a distinct touch. With 'Sau Tarah Ke', the composer falls back in his 'Afghan Jalebi' mode. The Arabic lyrics lend an exotic flavour. 'Jaaneman aah' is crowd pleasing.

✔ Some High's :-
▶John Abraham and Varun Dhawan’s bromance. Their chemistry is very much a reminder of our Dhoom jodi, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra.
(See - Comparing Varun to Uday ? She mad or what? Chill. I am comparing the chemistry between both the actors, and not their individual talents. 😂)

▶Fancy FJ Cruisers, speed boats and drone based action sequences are enough for enthusiasts. Also, shot in Abu Dhabi, the swanky locales of middle east are impressive.

▶The humour quotient is high and it promises to keep you entertained till the very end. There are some silly one liners but they still make you chuckle.

▶The surprise cameo by Akshay Kumar is applaud worthy. 👏👀

✖ Some Low's :-
▶Of course, there are stupid scenes such as John’s character getting off a plane with a lit cigarette. Well, there’s a reason you don’t smoke near the planes. Don’t want to blow up yourself, do you? 😑
Also, it is plain annoying to show someone throwing smoke on someone else's face.

▶Also, what's with the name VIRAJ SHARMA?
Like Virat + Yuvraj + Rohit Sharma. Seriously? Duhh!

▶Rohit Dhawan’s Dishoom tries hard to be a Rush Hour - esque buddy cop film but thanks to its clichés, comes hardly any close.

▶While the focus remains on John and Varun, the writers fail to establish the antagonists character much.

Performances :-
➡ John Abraham as Kabir maintains his steely 'Rocky Handsome' persona  and after a while, his character and acting starts to bore the hell out of you. But he is still passable as the no nonsense guy because who would want to see him try anything near comedy after 'Welcome Back' or 'Housefull 2' ? Certainly not me. Thank god for his hot body, he is still appealing. 😍❤

➡ Its unfortunate that Varun Dhawan has nothing new to offer. After 'Main Tera Hero', 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania', his character as Junaid is once again the chirpy chocolate boy like. Nonetheless, he is extremely likable and instantly grabs your attention in the film with his comic timing and cute looks. With the natural, cocky charm of a young Will Smith - a fact alluded to when Dishoom references Men In Blackwith its heroes calling themselves K and J -- Dhawan is spontaneous and funny but, most importantly, sincere.
He is the main highlight of the movie. 👏😘

➡ Jacqueline Fernandez as Ishika lives up to the expectations once again and proved that she has nothing to do with acting at all. Of course, her sexy moves in Sau Tarah Ke make-up for most of that missing acting.

➡ Akshay Khanna in spite of being a good actor and the antagonist in the film, gets limited screen time. But he plays the evil bookie Wagha, with ease.

➡ Akshay Kumar gives one hell of a cameo in this film. And those 5-7 minutes are downright hilarious. 😂
He adds the bun in 'man-bun'.
 *Whistles* 😉

➡ Saqib Saleem Qureshi as Viraj, obviously knows how to hit full-tosses all over the place. Saleem is a fine performer and the cricketing bits seem as authentic as they need to be.

➡ Then there is a pug named 'Bradman' which reminds us of 'Frank' from 'Men in Black'.

➡ Satish Kaushik as Mr. Qureshi is excellent and funny. 😂 The idea of his character is impressive.

➡ Parineeti Chopra’s item number is already popular and ends the film with much glitz and glamour.

➡ Nargis Fakhri? *Ignores*
(You really want me to even add anything more? 😂)

❤ The film’s best parts are Dhawan asking a helicopter pilot to pull over 'side mein,', Satish Kaushik trolling people on the phone and Varun Dhawan saying, "If the characters in 'Lagaan' would've had a 'Weather App', it would've been easier for them to track rains and would've saved a lot of their energy spent on singing songs." And John's reply to this is hilarious. ❤😂

It's a complete Bollywood masala entertainer. Light on script, heavy on entertainment. At any point it doesn't hobble or hurt your brain. 😉

Housefull 3 - Akshay Is The Heart Of This Passably Funny Movie. 😌

Genre - Comedy/Romance.

Run time - 2 h 25 min minutes.

📜 Plot - A father doesn't want his daughters to get married. Buh they fall in love. Now, the three men enter the mansion of their ladylove's pretending to b disabled to gain the father's sympathy and try to convince him that they're a good fit for his daughters.
Also, things take a turn when a DON enters their lives.

The Third Installment in the Housefull Series, is helmed by Writer-Director Duo Sajid-Farhad, instead of Housefull Veteran Sajid Khan. And to be honest, this one is actually funny in parts, despite some ridiculous jokes. All i can ask you all is to lock away the logic and enjoy this mad ride !

The beginning is very lukewarm. Honestly, I wasn't laughing initially. But, right after the lads enter their ladyloves home as the disabled souls, the narrative picks up.
Director duo Mr. Sajid-Farhad's enhance the comedy by their shot taking and narration style.

💨 Story and Dialogues - Clumsy is the word. Although they have labelled this movie as a slapstick comedy, some jokes, especially the ones involving the actress's translating English puns into Hindi, are unfunny to the core. The writing could've been better. Of course, I didn't expect 'Housefull 3' to be a comedic gem, but we have heard & read some of the many such jokes on whatsapp long ago. Even the Dialogues, ranges from hilarious to plain silly.
But, the humor works in favor of Akshay Kumar's character, who suffers from dual-personalities. There is even a nice twist towards the interval point, which definitely, works. The movie raises its comic bar after the interval and it will definately kick your funny bone every now and then. The second-hour, though over populated, is still packed with enough jokes & gags, which do the trick. The Climax, particularly, is hilarious ! 👍😂

💨 Cinematography is nearly perfect with all the vibrant colors and locations.

💨 Editing could've been a lil sharper. Buh, its still passable.

💨 Music - 'Pyar ki ma ki' is okayish. The rest, are plain annoying.

💨 Art & Costume Design are actually goood !

➡ Akshay Akshay Akshay ! Akshay's split personality act is the best where he's Sundi and Sandy. His body language is too good. His genius comic timing and expression aren't new anymore, but he portrays the dual-personality driven character, with unbelievable ease. He is undoubtedly, the film's best joke!

➡ Riteish Deshmukh is also superb with his expressions.

➡ Abhishek has his moments and he reminds us of his superb performances in Bol Bachchan and Happy New Year.

Also the chemistry with the boys is awesome and it shows on screen. It's Akshay, Riteish and Abhishek who literally saved this movie from being a crap like Humshakals.

➡ Jacqueline is fine. While Lisa and Nargis feel slapped on. Poor. Basically, all the actresses are only to meet up the movie's glamour quotient.

➡ Boman Irani is first-rate, his Gujarati dialect is perfect.

➡ Jackie Shroff is impressive. He carries his look and personality in interesting way.

➡ Chunkey Pandey as Akhri Pasta, is enjoyable.

🔯 On the whole, 'Housefull 3' isn't a laugh-riot like 'Housefull 2', but its funny in parts nonetheless. Go! Grab a Popcorn, and enjoy this fine family entertainer. 🔯😌☝
